Who is Keith Franklin?

Keith Franklin is a Olympic Peninsula native with extensive experience in animal care and husbandry. Sassy Lady Pet Resort was the fulfillment of his life-long passion for owning and operating an excellent, above-average animal care facility.

As a young man, Keith was a member of Future Farmers of America and raised show-quality purebred Angus cattle. He won many awards for show and excellence of breed.

Keith also won the Washington State Junior Judging Championship for his efforts in judging confirmation and breed quality of a variety of animals.

Keith was a member of 4-H and won numerous prizes and ribbons for cattle and horse showing and breeding.

Keith has worked on ranches caring for thoroughbred horses, Hereford cattle, sheep and swine. He has worked with feeding requirements of animals to achieve total digestible, nutrient feed mixtures to maximize the health of his charges.

He has given medical care to a variety of animals over the years and has assisted in birthing and calving.

Keith was a professional deep-sea diver for many years. Due to a diving accident in which he nearly lost his life, he was forced to retire. He then turned to the passion of his life and bought the Sassy Lady to live out that dream.

Keith is a true lover of animals and has an exceptional rapport with them. He is an instant Alfa Male leader to dogs when their owner leaves them in his care. Keith has a deep concern for animals and recognizes that they are in a new environment--away from their best friend and owner.

He appreciates the natural qualities of animals that bring loyalty, forgiveness, love without conditions, and peace of mind to our lives.

He is not only concerned for the physical health of animals in his care, but also the psychological health of the animal. To that end, he uses his years of accumulated animal care experience to provide an environment that is safe, caring and stimulating for you pet.
